Pricing

Managed IT, priced per user.

Support, monitoring, security and IT strategy for Western Australian businesses, from the same team on either package. Protect+ $150 or Protect Enterprise from $275 per user per month, excl. GST.

Protect+ starts at 20 standard users, and Protect Enterprise at 40. If you have 10 or more people and are growing, or a big appetite for technology such as AI Enablement or Purpose-Built Software, get in touch and we may still be able to help.

Microsoft 365 and other licensing is quoted as a bolt-on. We’re a Microsoft Partner, so we can buy and manage your Microsoft licences for you.

Prices exclude GST. Email-only users are priced in your proposal. Microsoft 365 licences are quoted separately, so check what is bundled when you compare. Letters next to an item, such as A, mark a prerequisite. For how this compares across Perth, read our guide to managed IT pricing in Perth.

"Lucente has taken the complexity out of managing IT across our WA and Victorian operations. Brodie and the team bring a level of expertise and proactive thinking that you'd normally only find in large enterprise environments..."

Common questions

Which package is right for us?
Protect+ suits most teams of 20 or more standard users. It covers unlimited* phone and remote support in business hours, 24/7 monitoring, security, backup and IT strategy, with onsite work at our schedule of rates. Protect Enterprise is for teams of 40 or more that want more cover and stronger security. It adds reactive onsite support when an incident needs it, remote after-hours Priority 1 response, Microsoft’s AI-powered threat protection, identity protection, web content filtering on managed devices and application patching. It also adds Essential Eight reporting, an extended policy set, the learning platform and a monthly service report. Protect Enterprise requires Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Microsoft Defender Suite, quoted separately. Both come from the same team. If you are between the two, talk to us. *Your Order and our Standard Terms may set limits, such as fair use.
We have fewer than 20 people. Can we still work with you?
Protect+ starts at 20 standard users. Teams of 10 to 19 can still request a quote, with a minimum monthly charge of $3,000 ex GST, and we confirm fit before we send a proposal. Protect Enterprise starts at 40 standard users. Smaller than that, with a big appetite for technology such as AI Enablement or Purpose-Built Software? Get in touch and we may still be able to help.
What is included in the monthly fee?
Both packages include unlimited* phone and remote support in business hours, 24/7 monitoring, endpoint security, operating system patching, identity and MFA, and Microsoft 365 management. They also cover backup of mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, email domain protection, and user joiners and leavers. You also get monthly device health reports, hardware lifecycle and warranty management, procurement assistance and vendor coordination. IT and cybersecurity strategy, business reviews, an annual licence review and Essential Eight aligned controls are included too. Protect Enterprise adds reactive onsite support, remote after-hours Priority 1 response, Microsoft’s AI-powered threat protection and identity protection. It also adds web content filtering on managed devices and application patching for business applications and browsers. On top of that come Essential Eight current state against target, an extended policy set, the learning platform and a monthly service report. The full comparison is above. *Your Order and our Standard Terms may set limits, such as fair use.
What costs extra?
Microsoft 365 licences are quoted separately. Other costs are the one-off Onboarding & Optimisation fee, optional add-ons such as application control and 24/7 detection and response, bolt-ons such as phishing simulation on Protect+, and project work such as migrations or office moves. Work outside the plan is charged at our schedule of rates, quoted before we start. That includes scheduled onsite visits on both packages, and reactive onsite visits on Protect+.
Does the price include Microsoft 365 licences?
No. Microsoft 365 licensing is quoted separately as a bolt-on, because some businesses already have licences, others need us to buy them, and the right licence type (Business Basic, Standard or Premium) varies. Protect Enterprise requires Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Microsoft Defender Suite, quoted separately. We confirm the licence type and cost in your quote.
Do any items have prerequisites?

Some items rely on licensing or hardware you hold. The letter next to an item shows what it needs, and we recommend the right combination when we quote.

  • A. Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Device management via Intune, BitLocker encryption, advanced email protection, identity and MFA hardening, Windows Hello for Business and the Windows Business upgrade.
  • B. Microsoft Defender Suite (Protect Enterprise). Microsoft's AI-powered threat protection and identity protection.
  • C. Windows Pro. BitLocker encryption.
  • D. A compatible device. Windows Hello for Business.
Is onsite support included?
Phone and remote support in business hours is unlimited* on both packages. Most issues are fixed remotely, and we always try remote first. On Protect+, onsite visits are billed at our schedule of rates with 5% off. On Protect Enterprise, reactive onsite support is included when we determine an incident needs an engineer at your Perth metro site, during business hours and within the monthly allowance set in your agreement. Scheduled visits, and visits beyond the allowance, are billed at our schedule of rates with 5% off. *Your Order and our Standard Terms may set limits, such as fair use.
What happens if something goes wrong outside business hours?
Both packages give you a committed after-hours pathway for Priority 1 (business-down) incidents, through the support phone process so the incident is formally logged. Incidents are triaged against the priority-based response targets set out in your Order. Those response times are targets we work to, not warranted outcomes. On Protect+, attendance outside business hours is billed at the after-hours rates in your Order. On Protect Enterprise, remote response to Priority 1 incidents is included within the limits set in your Order, and further incidents or any after-hours onsite attendance are billed at after-hours rates.
How does the schedule of rates discount work?
Work outside the plan is charged at our schedule of rates, quoted before we start. Protect+ and Protect Enterprise customers both get 5% off those rates.
Are there setup or onboarding fees?
Every new customer starts with a one-off Onboarding & Optimisation fee. Onboarding covers environment discovery including the onsite visit, device enrolment, documentation and the security baseline. Optimisation then runs through your first 4 months, getting your Microsoft 365 tenant, devices, processes, joiner and leaver procedures and asset deployment into good health. The fee depends on team size and complexity and is confirmed in your proposal. A discount is available based on length of term, conditional on completing the term.
What happens after we sign?
Onboarding takes 2 to 6 weeks, depending on your size and the current state of your IT. We meet your team, collect access, document your devices, users and vendors, deploy our monitoring and security tools, close the priority gaps and introduce your staff to the helpdesk. Optimisation work then continues through your first 4 months. See how onboarding works.
What happens at the end of my contract term?
Your agreement renews for a further 12 months unless you give 90 days’ written notice before the end of your current term. Pricing is reviewed annually, and any increase is capped at the greater of 3.5% or CPI. We tell you about upcoming renewals and any price change ahead of time.
How does this compare to hiring someone in-house?
Against a dedicated internal IT hire: roughly $90k to $130k a year for a single mid-level engineer, before tools, leave, training and cover when they’re away. For 25 standard users, Protect+ is $45,000 a year ex GST, including the monitoring, security and backup tools. Microsoft 365 licences and the one-off Onboarding & Optimisation fee are on top.
What is Essential Eight alignment, and do I need it?
The ACSC Essential Eight is the Australian Government’s recommended set of cybersecurity controls for businesses. Both packages include alignment with these controls, and for most small businesses we target Maturity Level 1. Protect Enterprise adds your current state against target for each control, with a gap register and remediation plan in the monthly report. It matters most if you bid for government contracts, work in a regulated industry, or need to show your insurer a defensible security position.
What is the difference between a standard user and an email-only user?
Standard user: a team member with a managed PC or laptop. They get full device monitoring, security, patching and remote support. Email-only user: staff who only need email, calendar and basic apps on a phone or tablet. There is no managed PC, so they cost less, and the price is confirmed in your proposal. They still get secure access and identity protection. The minimums (20 for Protect+, 40 for Protect Enterprise) count standard users.
